Im incredibly grateful for what my time on The Voice has taught me. A vote of thanks: firstly, @jaukeem_fortson , you forever have touched my heart and have given me such an expanded perspective on my voice and God given talents. I thank you and your mom for making these battle rounds so enjoyable for me, your openness and patience is unmatched. I wish the world could’ve been in the room to see the full performance- the joy emitted and the celebration of the two of us sharing our gifts, it was really beautiful to see and experience. Secondly, I want to thank Paul, Peter, Tre, the band, & others-working with you all behind the scenes truly felt like home. To not only be seen but understood by you all was extremely comforting for me and thank you for always reminding me and treating me that my voice was meant to be here and has a huge space for me to share it boldly and proudly- I am forever grateful for that. Thank you Miss @reba for welcoming me onto the team, i remember how my mom and I would watch the show since season one and never miss an episode- my heart it so grateful to have been a part of team Reba! Thank you friends and family for showing me so much love always from singing on this platform to singing on the voice stage. I appreciate and honor you all so much. Thank you Lord God for answering this little prayer of mine & allowing me to share all my passions in such diverse ways in this beautiful life. idk, when I see myself on this stage, I see my city, my people, I see the DMV and all the special people Ive gotten to love, I see my small town of Silver Spring, MD. I see myself at Blake high-school skipping my gen eds to go to the dance studio. I see all the years of dance classes at D’anna Dance Center. I see countless hours of research, nightly crunches & stretching, singing in front of my laptop camera. I see all the songs written in my 50 cent composition notebook. I see myself staying up allll night to finish writing and recording one song that had my heart in a choke hold. I see the times I’ve gotten in trouble for my mouth. I see the excitement and nerves of opening my mouth, never really knowing what will come out but knowing that there’s something there to be shared. I see a passion, a truth. I see this grave desire for greatness and potential realized. Now and then, I’ve had this unexplainable vision. And now, to share just a glimpse, - I thank you @reba for seeing me #teamreba

When I got asked to do this project, it had been a while since I’ve danced to my own “tune” if you will. I wasn’t really freestyling or in class at the moment so when I was asked to come in and freely move, my heart was as elated. I didn’t know what I was going to do but as soon as I heard the music I didn’t need to think about it, I just, danced lol. And I thank God for this gift that is deeply embedded in my genetic make up to move, communicate, and create through this medium of movement. It was an honor to star in @amaarae new song/visual “Jehovah Witness” and her team welcomed me with so much love and respect of me, my body, and my craft. This project was a gift of liberation, remembrance of who I am as a mover and foretelling for what’s to come in the future: me, the art, the people and the LOVE of it all. Thank you Amaarae boo you got me and the whole world dancing! Lol. A huge shoutout to my manager at BTA for aiding me in this as an artist, feeling so human and cherished. Thank you @vickygmakeup for the incredible glam, @unitsbybrielv this unit held me down, thank you for the hair from one gig to the next! @tarasheree you were a joy communicating and working with you and @freenjoy and @maks.ellies directing was the icing on the cake for me your vision and kindness speaks wonders. Also beautiful thank you to @janaeroubleau & @itzjonce for this incredible look. The entire rest of the team was a gift from heaven and I’m so grateful for such a wonderful, safe, uplifting environment to create and be in. I am grateful. GRATEFUL. That’s is it. That is all. A reminder that each and everyone of our unique voices has power. The ability to move mountains, to encourage, to empower. No matter how much or little you say, speak into you and others today. It’s easy to see others, their platforms and what they have and compare: to feel as if your “little” seed of an idea or art is somehow minimized because of someone else’s portrayed success. Be encouraged, be inspired. Honor where you are, no matter how big or small. You have something, and that something is powerful. You’ve been given a one of a kind voice.
