A slight departure from my usual colourful, maximalist aesthetic, this monochromatic work is stripped right back to reflect a feeling of isolation, grief and the hauntingly beautiful. I wanted to blend movement, song and writing — imagining the lament lyrics as calligraphy not with ink but embodied as smoke.
