🗣️Bottoms🗣️ Cinematography by @mariaruschedp Directed by @emmmaseligman “The setting of Bottoms is an exaggerated American high school, but we wanted the photography to reference action or superhero movies so the audience feels the stakes the way the girls do. We knew anamorphic lenses would be the best tool for that. I wanted a set that had enough character to create scope without calling too much attention to themselves and found the Atlas Orions. They were really consistent across focal lengths and I loved being able to push in on a wider lens into a close up without worrying about close focus or distracting distortion. We had the set expanded for the Alexa mini LF and detuned for a softer image overall and some extra focus fall off around the edges so that it still felt visually in line with our nostalgic high school world.” - @mariaruschedp #AtlasLensCo #Anamorphic #Filmmaking #Bottoms

🍽️Feed My Soul👻 Filmed on Atlas Orion Series Cinematographer: @willl_mcginn Director: @arturthur1 “When Director Artur Gevorgyan reached out to me about this project shooting with anamorphics was in the conversation from the start. Due to the film’s structure of half narrative and half dance sequences, we opted to shoot these sections on different optical formats, landing on anamorphic for the narrative half. I had shot with the Atlas Orion 50mm on a project in the past and loved the characteristics and build of the lens, as well as how they paired with the Ursa Mini G2. ⛈️Thunder⚡️ Filmed on Atlas Mercury Series Cinematography by @hmartinezdp_svc Directed by @marcelrasquin “Me and director Marcel Rasquin, when we were prepping and visualizing the shoot, decided unanimously that the Mercury were the right tool and choice for our project, exotic locations in the desert demanded lenses with a lot of character and unique features, this is were the Mercury stepped in. The 1.5x de-squeeze gives a lot of versatility in experimenting with different formats, angles and shot sizes. The size the weight and the build quality helped us move at an incredible speed between lens change and basically be able to put the camera in really small and tight spaces in order to achieve our vision. I really enjoyed the fact of being able to have the freedom of putting the camera anywhere, a lot of this project was shot handheld and having the mercury was definitely a plus. Incredible glass that I could easily use to shoot a theatrical feature with my eyes closed, the best of all and the icing on the cake with this incredible product is that all of its focal lengths cover Full Frame.” - @hmartinezdp_svc #AtlasLensCo #Filmmaking #Thunder

‘BECOMING’ for @sonycine | Shot at LA’s stunning @gettymuseum on the Venice 2 with a mix of @atlaslensco Mercury 1.5x anamorphics and @xelmusanamorphic Apollo Mk II 2x anamorphics. Our incredible DP Oren describes this one perfectly: . “This was a true dream of a project - a day of the purest kind of creativity with a very small, tight-knit and focused crew, some incredible technical tools, an amazing location, beautiful natural light, and the most wonderful collaboration between artists of all different disciplines. We really put the Venice 2 through its paces during this shoot day, utilizing multiple crop factors on different anamorphic lenses, high speed, and different base ISOs as we shot through sunset into dusk. I’ve wanted to shoot a tights-only interview setup like this for a long time but it’s a tough sell for most. Don’t you want a wide? To take it up another notch, we shot it on the @atlaslensco Mercury 1.5x anamorphic series of lenses on the @fujifilmx_us GFX 100 ii in full width 4k 16:9. This was a dream project for @9pointstudios with a simple brief: make it look different. I’m always trying to push myself to shoot something different. Find a weird composition, or an unconventional frame. Next time, I think I’ll go even weirder on one of the angles. Thanks to @kelly_jarry and @macolink for helping me dial in the frames and a huge thanks to @ericholljes who gave us his heart in this interview.
