Every year world leaders, advocates, activists and policy makers head to The United Nations General Assembly. I was lucky to be there for Global Goals week in partnership with Project Everyone and
@theglobalgoals on behalf of the
@antibullyingpro programme from
@dianaaward charity.
The Sustainable Development Goals, of which they are 17, have the power to create a better world by 2030, by ending poverty, fighting inequality and addressing the urgency of climate change. The focus of me and my friend
@abcholmes time there was the work being done to end Violence Against Children.
Today marks the end of Antibullying week in the UK and provides a chance to reflect on how the work being done to end bullying is necessary in tackling the broader issue of Violence Against Children. I joined the World Health Organisation
@who to host a dinner calling on urgent action against the global crisis of child violence. 1 in 2 children worldwide—over a billion young lives—face violence annually. Bullying forms a big part of the viloence children face and is just one of the issues in the litany of ways that children suffer violence. This underscores the severity of Bullying as a growing issue that, for as long as it goes unaddressed, will continue to enhance the degree to which children experience violence and reinforce cycles of violence in adulthood.
Please support the work of
@antibullyingpro by following them and seeing how you might contribute or benefit from working with them. And follow the link in my bio to find out more about the effort from
@theglobalgoals to end Violence Against Children.
