If we've spoken for more than 2 minutes over the past year and a half, I've probably mentioned something about my experiences on a nutty documentary set in a retirement city in Florida. In what's felt like both a marathon and a sprint, I can now write that SOME KIND OF HEAVEN, @lanceopp 's first feature doc, will be premiering at Sundance!! Lance, @dsgarber and @shaviddayne have been logging insane hours to find a film within a beautiful and mysterious collage of footage, and they've emerged with something uniquely profound that speaks to the American experience of "getting older." It's a story that I hope can be seen by as many people as possible in a theater in the near future... and ALL OF IT has only come about through the efforts of @melopp, @pachoworks, @darrenaronofsky of Protozoa, Kathleen Lingo of the New York Times, the Los Angeles Media Fund, (many others) and the borderline inexplicable commitment and sacrifice of the characters in this film. It was shot by @davidbolendp , recorded by @richard_carlos247 and taken in the anchor leg by @michael_faller -- three 🐐🐐🐐's whose on-set presence alone was a gift and sacrifice because they're usually busy making the stuff that keeps me up late at night, dreaming about a life in movies. I'm insanely excited to see the film taken into the hands of @aribalouzian , @appraiser__ and @damienvdc who will elevate it all the more. I will chill for now, but many more SHOUTSOUT to come
