First September in 20 years without a first day of school 🥲

3 years ago I FaceTimed a stranger I found on a Brown job board. I thought I’d ask him a few questions about the field and never see him again. Instead, I met Paul. Paul could’ve chatted for 30 and disappeared, but he stayed. He called, he took the time, he advised, he showed me tough love and care every step of the way. Every time I needed a light in these ‘shark’ waters, as he’d say, I’d always call him and be greeted with his trademark smile and big laugh. & I knew it would all be ok. He gave without counting. He dedicated his life to inspiring others, bringing energy and philosophy to the arts. He listened to everyone, eager to hear radical perspectives and new takes. He encouraged us to refuse to solely live for our work. He lived and urged us to do the same. Paul was a pool of colossal wisdom and generosity. Last year, after leaving the office for the last time, I wrote him: “I am beyond blessed to move forward with your experience and your light guiding me.” Today these words ring truer than ever. Paul, thank you for everything. The unforgettable lessons, laughs, struggles, and eurekas. I aspire to continue your legacy of bringing silenced voices out into the world and make you proud doing so. My mentor, my friend: If you had just entered my life without guiding, empowering, caring, trusting me like you did, that would have been enough – דַּיֵּנוּ. Rest easy rockstar 🤍

Brown Motion Pictures — Beyond a pleasure, it’s been a life-changing and magically fulfilling chapter of my life. An enormous and greatly sappy thank you to every single person I’ve worked with over the past 4 years on the 16 films I’ve produced, EPed, etc. This 8th and last premiere will stay engrained in my memory forever. I love you all & know that there is so much more mind blowing, creative, and thoughtful filmmaking in store for us. It’s been an honor. 🤍
