What an incredible journey to be in THE ROOM NEXT with you, Pedro. How lucky I am to have been invited into your beautiful and unique world. To tell important stories. With a vision of a master, surrounded by the people that you love. What a memorable journey has been to make this movie with all those incredible filmmakers that come together to surround you. Thank you all and every single one of this team, we made a movie full of love, wisdom and life. I hope people are moved by it. What an unforgettable ride we had. Together, all of us. There are so many memories, I could go on forever, but I will cherish the moments in the car with @chijekang , the best human a camera department can dream of. And how amazing it was for all the crew that was doing our first movie with Pedro, how we learned a new way of making films, an Almodovarian way, that makes them unique. Will not forget Pedro’s smile when miracles occurred in front of the camera with those incredible humans that are Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore. They are the light. Or the hugs with Tilda after the screening in Venice when she whispered the most beautiful words about our job together. And I will remember forever those months with my family in Madrid, the Premiere in Venice and the final tears with Maite (this is also her prize!), Greta & Lita when the movie won the GOLDEN LION! This is Spanish Cinema history but most importantly, it is a movie we will remember. Thank you, Pedro, and the beautiful family of EL DESEO, with Agustín, Esther, Lola, Osama, César, Manu, Yuyi, Fernando, Bárbara, Cova, and a long list of beautiful souls. Family dressing up for Halloween was too much fun this year! John Waters and his characters: Lita embodying the Pope of Trash, Greta as Divine eating poop in Pink Flamingos, Maite as Johny Depp in Cry Baby and myself as Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray. Lita’s face in photo 2 is staying in my heart forever. And then the most beautiful party of the year at Trudie’s and KK’s. Just insane the energy, the crew, the love that they gather every year. We want to grow old to be like these 70 year old inspiring legends!

What a dream to work side by side with these two legends and creative heroes by the name of LUCA GUADAGNINO & JW ANDERSON! This are the kind of projects that I dream of and that make me even more passionate for what I do. It was incredible to make this little personal film for those two very special artists, shooting on 35mm with the dreamy setup of a FRANZ WEST exhibition at the DAVID ZWIRNER NYC gallery. It is a great feeling when a director pushes you to places you would never go, and by giving you that little push you discover something new, unique. Some memories of one of the most incredible weeks of my life! LITA GRAU MUÑOZ was born on Monday 02.28.2022. Healthy and smiling. It’s been a miracle to get here thanks to the love and endurance of the most amazing human @maitemonkey. What a family we’ve made, we cannot believe our luck! The most beautiful thing of having a baby is to feel how our hearts expand, how it makes you feel things you were not aware you could even feel. They say in Barcelona that babies come with a bread under their arms, and on Sunday the bread was a Best Cinematography SPIRIT AWARD for PASSING. Such an incredible recognition for all the work done through the years and with the help of so many talented people. Thank you cast and crew of @passingmovie, you deserve it all. I want to share this award with @rebeccahall @tessamaethompson @negga.ruth @margothand @nybongiovi @abbebop @robstile @stefmaximilian @noralux @marcirodgers_ @netflix @harborpictureco @romanhankewycz @arri_rental And all the other people I am sorry to be missing! Five years ago we got married with that force of nature called @maitemonkey, the best human I’ve ever encountered. So lucky that you deal with me everyday since, and u seem pretty happy about it! I wish I could get married again to you and we could all party and dance and karaoke and eat and smile.... you know what, I think we need to celebrate the love again and get together with all the friends and family and add the new friends who missed it... and just have you descend from the heaven again... this life is too short not to celebrate (again) what is really a true miracle...

Ou yeah! Never thought I would be part of a club with all my heroes but here we are! What an honor, I am very moved. I am a new member of the American Society of Cinematographers! Thanks to all of you who have been in this path with me, from my family and film school peers to the amazing directors, producers cast and crew that I have been lucky enough to work with and I have learnt so much from. Grandma Grau died today. She was the most beautiful soul I’ve ever met. Rest in peace, gorgeous. And hopefully in the sky, where you came from, they will serve you those “trikinis” that you fed us all our youth. These are the photos from Christmas, when I saw you last and when your body was very light, cause you were ready to fly. I will never get bored of kissing your skin and holding your hands, rippled as they were from all you lived, but had already forgotten. You were so kind. Kidness was infinite in you. You were not made for this World anymore and you left to the place you prayed, with the Angels you deserve to be. Please leave some kindness here, we will need it. Rest in peace, beautiful soul, rest in peace, Àvia. Avui ha marxat l’àvia. La més bona persona que he conegut. Descansa en pau, preciosa. I que al cel, d’on vens, et facin els trikinis amb què vas alimentar la nostra joventut.
