It took me a long time to want to post this story. Rewatching it now ignited the same fire in me that this day did and I'm grateful for the reminder ~ In the end of 2019, I had the worst experiences of my career in camera just over and over to the point I thought it was my fault. Should I even continue at all? I had an opportunity to take a chance, was forced to quit a 5 month long show to do it because they wouldn't let me go on my day off. I figured I failed them too, but what's another loss. I flew to LA by myself to place myself in front of the people I want to be. ~ That night, that moment, January 2020, changed my mind completely about quitting the dream job that i gave my whole heart. I was shocked and shown what i originally thought it'd be like in this industry i love so much. Respect, support like no other, a family that immediately let me in with open arms. The opposite of what i got in Arizona at the time. This... was such an inspiring, random gift of a night that changed everything for me 🙏🏼 I'll never forget that feeling of being welcomed home by legends who made room for me.. hopefully it inspires you to take a chance too @thegoodvibestudios @carlygilleland

The past couple of days, I put down the camera and instead.. directed, officially, for the very first time. There's been many things now that the universe has pushed me towards and I'm glad that a comedy was my entrance into the directing landscape! Thank you so much to @adrianna_licitra and @alex.mossman for trusting me with your story. We had such an incredible team both cast and crew, I never had to worry for a second! I'm so grateful I had incredibly talented actors for my first experience. @kelcieweber @andrewdriggers_ @adrianna_licitra @alex.mossman absolutely killed it and took direction so well it actually blew my mind about how powerful acting can really be, so thank you, the fearsome foursome for your energy and for trusting me to make magic together ❤️ thank you to @caseyfehr for your incredible talent as DP, its so beautiful and you're at the very top of my list!! @nicholasvenecia it really was so fun watching you mold light the way you did and it's so fun that we had just met like a week and a half ago and now we got to do this! To @scottymacfilm and @ana.masley for always having my back!! To everyone else on the crew, I'm eternally grateful for every single thing you did for this little movie. I know for a fact we will work together again soon and im here for all of you no matter what you need! There's moments in life that you just can't ever forget. Even the tiny comments you tell me.. when you're getting your Oscar, remember this day 🥺🥹😭 it truly fuels every part of me and it means so much that people believe in me like that. I'll never ever, ever forget this.

In 2021, I got to spend my birthday following a prescribed burn in Humboldt County, CA, telling the story of female fire fighters in the Yurok tribe regaining the rights to their land. I learned so much about the health of the forest and its creatures that week. Made some great friends out there. Thank you to @nature_org for supporting me and for everything you do.
