Day 1 #EssenceFest We got to the convention center early, got our credentials, and saw the set up before the crowds came. Then, we went over to Theater 4 for the first podcast screening block. We were first, and it went well! Shout out to @socamom’s @akasorority1908 sisters who came through to support 🩷💚 After the screening, we did a Q&A with @bizzieliving about her audio drama @alpha8audio, and then headed over to the creator lounge for some food and networking. From there we took a break at the hotel before going to the book area to see @livefrommelissa interview @donlemonofficial (phenomenal) and then to check out the global economic forum. After that we did a video recap (join the Facebook group to watch), while we waited for the @lyft (did Lyft all week and it was wonderful) to take us to the highly recommended @lapetitegrocery for our 20th anniversary dinner (which came with some surprise 🥂). Even though there was a flood watch and torrential rain, we made it there and back to the hotel. It was a long day, and we were exhausted, but ready for day two of the @essencefilmfestival and @essencefest!

I ALWAYS love being around my people, and especially at ESSENCE FEST!! This weekend I had an amazing time being flown out to New Orleans to represent the Black Girls Film Camp!
