Shot entirely for Apple Vision Pro, this project as a creation of both visual and sonic expression by director @jakeoleson , commissioned by @vimeo . If you find yourself with an “AVP” then check out this short on the new Vimeo App. A limited 2D and rectangular viewing experience can’t compare to the full immersive experience of interacting with it but just a taste for now. Immersive filmmaking offers entirely new depths to storytelling that I haven’t encountered in traditional film. When used with intention, I believe this medium has the power to move people and foster empathy in truly impactful ways. Currents follows a young woman struggling to balance her rural roots with a new life in Ho Chi Minh City, inspired by conversations with young Vietnamese navigating this journey. It was crafted with the incredible @booncha.studio and @krisoi.s , whose tireless dedication along with the amazing local cast and crew elevated this project to a whole new level. Finally getting to share this spot we made for United Airlines. Some significant challenges on this one like shooting at one of the busiest airports in the world with many security restrictions involving gear, timing, and a crew of 4 to light a 600ft long,300ft tall hangar with no setup time and yet still lit up a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
