I wanted to share a little note of gratitude for my beautiful @erin_dennison who has been very much a single mom these past 5 weeks as I worked nutty hours. This past week I was on nights and she somehow managed to impress the big boss at work AND mama our girls on expert level- we’re talking field trip to a petting zoo in 90 degree heat, farmers market at night, weekend recital AND somehow managed to look this hot before Krista & Jared’s wedding last night. Erin, my love, you continue to blow my mind. I didn’t ask Erin for her permission to post this photo and it’s not filtered - we are actually as tired as we look!!!!

“I have loved shooting the Blackwing7s on Venice for the past few years. The slight bloom really complements the camera and the sporadic flares were a perfect fit for our film. The lenses are gentle on skin texture and have an overall ‘calming’ effect on digital sensors. I love that you can achieve variation within the set depending on the T stop and I found myself making aperture rules depending on which location we were shooting - The Society we shot wide open for an enhanced surrealistic quality and within the tech spaces of our film we closed down closer to a 2.8 or 4 to give the image a bit more snap and uniformity. I’m so happy to have chosen Blackwing7s for this film.” - Doug Emmett

Happy Birthday to Navy Jo, light of my life
135 13 a year ago
On Erin’s birthday I am at a loss for words that entirely and justly sum her up and I keep coming back to one word that succinctly and adequately describes the mother, the partner, the sister, the daughter, the friend, the human that she is. Erin you are perfect. Someday my girls will understand just how lucky they are. Happy birthday my love. (She saw me writing this and agonizing over it - she’s goes “it doesn’t have to be profound my love”… phew)

a few more from Breaking
169 17 2 years ago
“Breaking” opens tomorrow in theaters. We shot last summer with a phenomenal LA crew and led by our talented, nerves-of-steel, heart-of-gold director Abi Demaris Corbin. This film tells the true story of veteran Brian Easley, who held a bank hostage in a desperate attempt to get the attention he deserved from the Veterans Affairs. It feels good to have Brian’s story told today. His family approved of the film and were integral in capturing Brian’s spirit. I’m shit at formatting on Instagram but I want to shout out the crew that made this film happen: producers Sal Al-Rashid, Sam Frohman, Jarrett Turner, Ashley Levinson & Kevin Turren, line producer Harrison Huffman, gaffer Drew Nelson (whom I had previously worked with on Sorry To Bother You), Key Grip Joe Heath, focus puller (the unflappable) Buddy Allen Thomas, Additional camera operating Emily Hock, DIT (and Navy Vereran!) Michael Borenstein, electric Vanessa Woo, Steadicam operators Ben Verhulst, Nate Anderson, Joel Marsh, Timber Hoy, utility Alex Macat, additional photography by Andrew Jeric, and legend dolly grip Joe Ruiz. Thank you to Natasha Leonnet of CO3 for your eyes and talents. Cameras by the stellar team at Keslow. Grateful to everyone that had a hand in bringing this powerful story to the big screen.
