📣🍿 «Outta This World» - directed by @shapxo and captured through the lens of cinematographer @khatsarevich 🎥 the shoot of this film was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of their careers, capturing the intense energy and athleticism of basketball through cinematic storytelling. Their goal was to immerse viewers in the high-energy world of basketball, making each moment feel epic. They employed various camera setups from GoPro, and Alexa Mini, to thermal cameras to push the edge of visuals, ensuring that viewers felt every dribble and dunk right in their faces. 📒Opening Shot Breakdown by Dop @khatsarevich 👇 The opening shot of a music video is meant to grab the audience’s attention and keep it until the story unfolds. Given this, I spent a significant amount of time brainstorming ways to genuinely surprise viewers. This led me to devise the idea of the first-person view (FPV) drone shot. In this sequence, the FPV drone enters the car, executes a 180-degree flip, exits the car, follows the character, attaches to the car, and then starts moving alongside it. This intricate shot aims to engage the audience right from the start, setting the stage for the unfolding narrative. Technically, this was only possible to do on a small FPV drone with a naked GoPro on board. I didn’t see anything when I was filming because there was no monitor - I decided to just surrender to the moment and feel the camera’s movement with my body 😀 Check out the result!
