Why do we gotta wait til some silly holiday to be grateful? This is a love letter to all our collaborators. Most recently, @c___c___ and @shelbillee who have been working hard on a fab Basel installation we’re doing with @thestandardmiami. Burning the midnight oil and surviving deadlines with all you dope, weird, and talented humans is an honor. Being ambitiously delulu together is so much better. We love seeing collaborators that go on to expand their pieces from the mag into full exhibitions, activations, and series. We love when they become repeat contributors and call us at 2 AM with insane ideas (literally wouldn’t have it any other way.) Most become homies, some even trusting us with spare keys to their apartments. Odds are we’ll be out together and all lose our shit but that’s ok. The underdogs and the icons ( and our favorite) the underdog icons will always have a seat at our table. LoHi has brought us closer to so many bootyful people and we luv you all. Special thanks to the @thestandardmiami for holding space for our crazy ideas and for allowing us to build something with and for our city. We stayed out with gitano flamenco artists in Madrid til 5 in the morning so you don’t have to. You may recognize percussionist @jmtobalo his from performances with world class acts like @Rosalia.vt. and while the stage is where the actions at, the true spectacle of the gitano community happens backstage. Our Madrid contributor @catnixx took us backstage to @tablaolaquimera, one of Madrid’s most respected flamenco establishments. Musicians, singers, and dancers gathered backstage in “La cueva” or “the cave” before their midnight show offering hugs, rolling cigarettes, and breaking out in serindipitous jam sessions. The love, support, and respect was palpable in La cueva. The older members mentored the younger ones, asking about their families, recent gigs, and their future. Most traveled from outside of Madrid, but distance couldn’t separate their bond. Thank you for letting us into your inner circle and offering us the chance to capture your love. Turns out the tea underwater is just as hot as the tea on land y’all. @coralcitycamera is a 24/7 YouTube live stream from an urban coral reef in Miami. It’s like liquid peace on your screen.
