It’s been 6 long years since @sade last release - and 14 since her last album release Soldier of Love - but the singer-songwriter is back with a new single. A part of a compilation project entitled Transa, ‘Young Lion’ will be released with non-profit group @redhotorg in support of transgender awareness. The track, which is dedicated to Sade’s trans son Izaak, is set for release on 22nd November this year. Featuring over 100 contributing artists including rising stars @julienrbaker, @clairo, @bartees_strange, @moses, @ezra.furman.visions, @andre3000 and @hunterschafer, scroll through the gallery to find out more. For the last three years I’ve been working alongside an amazing team @redhotorg to produce TRAИƧA: a spiritual journey in eight chapters celebrating trans people with 3 1/2 hours of music featuring over 100 artists, arriving 11.22.24 There’s so many things I could say about this, but I want to just say: Trans people have always existed, with many different names across time and culture, often as spiritual healers and leaders. As global systems continue to fail humanity and all life on Earth, the journey taken by trans people – and all peoples who have been oppressed – is a blueprint of possibility. May this be a glimpse of our collective liberation, and the light inside all of us. i’ve been learning lost wax casting from my love gabriel, and this is my first practice in adulating the earth this way, with an aquamarine tear cradled in silver, felt right to return to the ocean to take a photo of this pendant nestled in moss, in life, layers of cradling

this spring i took a jewelry/metalsmithing class (at the encouragement of @gabo__gamboa 💞); learning fabrication has been really beautiful & i missed having a strong relationship to physical craft these are some pics of learning & play in brass, copper and silver: a metal kite woven of brass and copper, a silver ring as an expression of inner landscape (set with a rough garnet courtesy @jillianbadel ), copper and silver flower/tower earrings. this process is such a practice in patience 🔗
