The vast majority of us have some degree of nasolabial fold or crease
And that’s totally okay, because that’s what makes us look human🩶
But if you’re bothered by them, that’s okay too
When seeking treatment, the goal should be to soften them, not eradicate them
Also, I gave myself nasolabial folds creating this post! 🤣😵
Let me know if it was worth it!

My soul is centered and my heart is heavy as I announce the cessation of my tenure at SGK Plastic Surgery. My gratitude for this practice is immeasurable. Here, I was given my first opportunity in aesthetics—a position difficult to obtain without experience.
After eight memorable years, I find solace in my departure, confident that I was a deeply dedicated and loyal provider who poured heart and soul into my work. Such a separation draws tears from even my stubborn eyes.
I’m not going to say that I’ve 'always had a dream' of starting my own practice, because I haven’t. In many ways, I’ve much preferred the ease of being an employee. Historically, I’ve stayed at jobs for several years, only leaving in lieu of major life changes or invaluable opportunities.
But over the years, I've come to realize that my personality and what I stand for flourish most in autonomy. My unwavering commitment to principle has always been the foundation of my practice and will remain the foundation of my future practice. I cannot wait for you to be a part of it.
Logistically, it will be some time before I am able to see patients again. I am actively immersed in preparing a place for you; for us. I will be in Switzerland from May 20th to 29th to speak at (and experience) The Inner Circle event.
My location will be new, but I will remain unchanged—candid, charismatic, and always putting patients over profits. If I am able to start seeing patients sooner, you will be the first to know. Please stay tuned for updates.
I have received countless messages regarding this transition, so please be patient as I work through them.
With love,
Rachel
PS: If you were a patient who was negatively affected by my abrupt departure, I want to apologize personally. Please know that this was completely out of my control. My hands are tied, and my heart hurts over it.

READ THIS 👇🏻 before getting forehead botox
The forehead is the most complex area to treat...
As it can have huge effects on eyebrow & eyelid position...the 2 things you care about the most
🚫You can't get the forehead without the frown lines
The frown lines support the brows for Botox in the forehead
And limits brows getting lower after forehead Botox
❗️⚠️Be cautious if you have heavy eyelid skin⚠️❗️
The forehead muscle is the ONLY muscle that allows you to lift up this skin
Paralyzing it may make the skin look or feel worse

EVERY INJECTOR WANTS YOU TO WATCH THIS!
Your provider can get rid of brow commas with botox💉
But the closer botox is placed to the arch of your brow, the higher the chance that you will lose it
…making your brows look flatter🫠
This is especially true if the dose is high or the placement is deep
Using a low & superficial dose can maintain your brow position, but it won’t last as long as other areas of your forehead
- Most providers avoid this area
- Some are willing to treat it on a follow up
- Experienced providers who know your face may treat it concurrently with the rest of your forehead
- And some providers are too scared to touch it all together
The bottom line: If you tolerate botox here as a touch up, then you will likely be able to add it as part of your regular treatment at future appts

Filler vs Sculptra
3.5K 106 10 days ago
The point at which the forehead muscle transitions from raising the brows to lowering the hairline is called the line of convergence
It’s present in all people, but is more obvious in some people than others; it’s less common to see one this strong
Injecting botox above the line of convergence relaxes the part of the muscle that pulls down, so it helps preserve brow position and reduces the risk of the brows dropping
And for some, it can even help lift the brows
Placing botox only high on the forehead will not always smooth lower forehead wrinkles, but it does help preserve brow position when the entirety of the forehead is treated

Will Sculptra affect my facelift? This has persisted as one of my most frequently asked questions
And it remains one that I cannot answer in its entirety. I don’t know if anyone can
I’ve delayed posting on it as I think it is entirely too complex to discuss on Instagram…the caveats are innumerable
But you were persistent, and hesitantly, I gave in
Facial plastic surgeons provide priceless perspectives on complications that non-surgical treatments ‘can’ cause; their input is valuable and should be considered
I have no doubt that some injectables can make a facelift more complicated
In the same breath, they are unlikely to cause an issue
I think too many patients are left feeling like they have to live in an anti-injectable purgatory until they know whether or not they are open to surgery
There is room to reiterate that many injectable options still have a safe and effective place….especially in the hands of ethical and experienced providers
If you are planning on having a facelift in the near future, listen to the guidance of your surgeon…in the end, they will be the one caring for you
An understanding relationship between surgical and non surgical modalities ensures comprehensive care that addresses both immediate aesthetic needs and long-term considerations

Here’s the info you’ll want to SAVE 💾:
Botox prevents muscles from doing what they naturally want to do
By relaxing muscles that normally pull down, we can “lift” them up

Prevents platysma from pulling down
Allows cheek muscles to work harder to help ‘lift’ jawline
▪️Mouth Corners = Depressor Angularis Oris

Puts mouth corners in neutral position
▪️Upper Lip = Orbicularis Oris
Prevents lip from flattening out & curling under
Everts upper lip, adding vertical height
▪️Under Nose = Depressor Septi Nasi
Prevents tip of nose from pulling down
Stabilizes tip of nose when smiling or talking
▪️ Under arch & tail of brows = Superior Lateral Orbicularis Oculi
Lifts outside of brows
▪️Between Brows = Procerus, Corrugator, Depressor Supercilii
Lifts inside of brows
▪️ Upper eyelids= Pretarsal Orbicularis Oculi

I’m BACK from NeedleArt 💉and couldn’t be more thrilled to have been part of its final iteration!
Simply put, it was an engaging blend of science, experience, and artistry—where critical thinking was a prerequisite
The conference featured top-tier professionals who shared unique insights on the most pressing topics in medical aesthetics
Beyond the education, I reunited with some of my favorite colleagues from around the world and finally met wonderful providers I’ve connected with online over the years🥰
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit overwhelmed with all my new knowledge, but I’m equally excited to deliver safer, higher-quality results to my patients—they are and always will be my driving force for continuing education
As a side note, the 1987 Prom was a major highlight and an absolute blast!!! 🎉🪩🎈
