It’s been awhile since I’ve done bridal glam & classic waves.. but how could I not glam beautiful @drkristyhamilton for her most special day?!?! 💗👰🏻‍♀️ Congratulations Dr Kristy + Tom!!!

Can I remove sara in photoshop? YES, I can. However, we see at the same exact time. It’s hard to explain but part of a moment is documenting the process and more often than not she becomes a part of the history of creating the moment. Lately, I have just been keeping her in the images because I like seeing what it takes to create a perfect portrait. She knows what it takes and so do I but only the people who have actually experienced it know what goes on behind the perfectness of a portrait before photoshop. Could I have waited to take the “perfect” portrait? YES, and there is another image right behind this one in the set but the difference is this expression on both of their faces. One is not fabricated and the other is. The expression is fully representative of what they were feeling at the time when someone else was in charge of their image. Happy, peaceful, calm and trusting. That is the most accurate representation of the carefully cultivated portraits that I love. I meet strangers and hear their stories while we are sitting doing hair and makeup. Often times the stories are fun and light, sweet and sometimes they are unexplainable, powerful and raw. This mom, her story, NONE of you would want to go through what she did. NONE. When I see this image and her standing tall, holding her head up, radiating love I am shook to my core. If you knew her story you would be proud of her for smiling again. Finally getting around to sharing one of my favorite weddings this year. The very first time I was asked to capture a day in Documentary fashion rather than the typical posed photos. This wedding took place a day after a highly improbable TORNADO in Downtown Houston. The LOVE CARE & DEDICATION shown by every single vendor was a beautiful testament to the amazing people that Alex & Lia truly are. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of a beautifully chaotic yet controlled day. The creative freedom and trust placed in my team & I to properly Document their special day is truly humbling. WHICH IS YOUR FAVE?🖤 Dark moody vibes by @jadeelizabethportraiture! It’s been 10 years since I went to blindly meet @grantlandpart2! He had no social media so I didn’t even see a photo! His line: HE KNEW WHERE I LIVED, so I questioned my safety🤣 He was the developer of my neighborhood. I purchased my home a year prior + was the only house on the cul de sac. I acted like I owned the entire street corner + would park my 32 foot enclosed GOOSENECK trailer I used to set up for shows with my retail biz. Can you tell I grew up in a town of 800 with no HOA!? Or am I letting my country girl show too much? 34 complaints on file about my trailer. Since @grantlandpart2 was the developer + head of the architectural control committee, he said he never delivered them to me. He told all complaints once another house started being built on my corner, then he would enforce it. He figured as a young single woman business owner, he would give me a break! What led me to finally agreeing to meet him: The jacks on my trailer went out the day before, leaving me in a bad situation trying to get home from a show. Roadside assistance helped me in the pouring rain get my trailer lifted + my dad told me to go straight to @goosenecktrailer for repairs. Literally driving there, our friend @tiffanydhenley texted to say she’d just cut Grant’s hair. He really wanted to meet me. I knew the Carrabba family owned Gooseneck. So, I said ,”I’m in need of his help, so give him my number.” Wet hair, no makeup + looking as rough as my previous 24 hours had been, I hoped he wouldn’t be there. Grant called to say I was on the way, they treated me like royalty + he texted making sure I was ok. I agreed to meet him the next night. I couldn’t believe how HANDSOME he was + we were basically neighbors! With time, he helped nurtured me, kept my phone charged, challenged me to grow, made me so happy + I didn’t have to worry about his one liners picking up other women🤣 You should have seen how excited my office manager was to tell me our trailer repair bill was $0 + we could keep it parked there, too! The logic + reasoning behind my crazy zest + larger than life ideas! ILYSM!

I just finished this image, It is one of my favorites from the set. Here is why…. Because I wish I had one of my children and myself. Kids are only kids for such a short period of time and then they are adults living their own lives building their own families. It goes by so much faster than you could ever imagine. Every woman deserves a beautiful image of her and her children. The BEST time to be photographed with your kids is SUMMER!! Your kids are already out of school and you are already taking vacation.
