NYCHA CEO Lisa Bova-Hiatt and Board Chair Jamie Rubin recently joined @pix11news to discuss how they plan to provide residents with vital repairs and services – even as #NYCHA’s recently released Physical Needs Assessment (#PNA) revealed a funding need of $78 billion. “We’re not going to get $78 billion,” Ms. Bova-Hiatt said. “We all know that. So what can we do to figure out a way to make the repairs? And the way we can do that is what we’ve seen is tried and true.” “Our PACT program is incredibly successful”, she said, while also explaining that “we’re going to look at each development individually and see what’s best for that community and that neighborhood.” Ms. Bova-Hiatt also mentioned the newly formed #preservationtrust and #compmod programs as tools for them to utilize. “I think the management team that is in place now … are the strongest it’s ever been,” Mr. Rubin said. “No question about it. .@NYCHAgram’s Section 8 portal just won the "Best Application Serving the Public" award at the NYC Technology Forum! 🏆 🚪 Nearly 15 years after the Section 8 waitlist was last opened to the public, the new platform processed more than 633,000 applications over the week it was active, ultimately placing on the waitlist 200,000 households from across the country who were randomly selected via lottery. Several NYCHA departments collaborated with IT and selected technology partners to create the first-ever online application system for NYCHA Section 8 vouchers that featured a multi-lingual interface and streamlined sign-in process to enhance accessibility. 👏 Huge thanks to all the teams behind this success and congrats!
