Before LỰU ĐẠN hits the road to Shanghai, Sakura gives us her hot take on this past season’s fashion month 💋 Sakura is Japanese-born, NYC-bred, and now calls LA her home as an artist and art director. While making a homecoming for NYFW this season, she still runs the same streets. She paints the town in LỰU ĐẠN with the one and only @richieshazam and dishes out the tea on NYC 🗽 Where’s the first stop after hopping off the plane from JFK? SB: @rakunyc Tell us about the fit. SB: This outfit is massive- the shorts reach my ankles, armholes reveal my tiny top. I’m also a print designer on the side so my eyes immediately connected with these pieces- the artwork is insane. It’s menswear and I feel hot in it. Where was this season’s ki? SB: My friends’ cramped studios, beds as sofas, honestly this season was giving more chatting in our underwear type of ki. And a place that holds true through the test of times? SB: @cafemogadornyc. Without my girls, __________. SB: I would be a tomboy with bad hair. LA or NYC? SB: This question always wants to start beef between LA and NY. I love both. We’re in an open relationship. But if I had to become monogamous, NY.

How do I create the perfect platinum? ❤️ In this bleach out for @sakurabready @hairlosangeles we started with a consultation where Sakura brought in her at home hair care products to show me how she maintained her in between appointments. This gave me an idea of her hair health and what she was willing to do for maintainence prior to bleaching. I paired that knowledge with the @k18hair REPAIR™️ to give us with flawless results with this bleach out. This is YABAI. ‘Yabai’ is a staple in Japanese conversations, versatile in its meanings—ranging from amazing and cool to dangerous and bad. In the 2000s my friends and I were obsessed with scrapbooking and decorating our ‘puricho’—journals bursting with purikura (sticker pictures), photo cutouts, collages, handwritten captions, and magazine clippings. These notebooks were our Instagram. Teaming up with stylist and Tokyo native Maina Imura, we channeled our shared nostalgia and love for Heisei gyaru culture and our personal memories into this shoot. The project follows two besties from high school, capturing the voyeuristic essence of best friends.
