Programm: Sunny Pfalzer und Marshall Vincent RUB YOUR FACE ONTO YOUR SHOULDER Wie kann man die Körpererinnerung an eine Umarmung wiederherstellen? Die immersive Installation „Rub your face on your shoulder“ von Sunny Pfalzer und Marshall Vincent erzählt Geschichten über Togetherness, Vandalismus und Romantik. Die Installation besteht aus textilen Skulpturen und einer angeleiteten Meditation. In 2020 wurden die pastellfarbenen T-Shirts, Hosen und Blusen, aus denen die Installation besteht, von sechs Performern getragen. Diese Gang protestierte, flirtete, spielte, tanzte und kuschelte sich in diese Stoffe. Sie wurden zu Monumenten, die sich in einem langsamen Tanz mit rosa Farbe besprühten. Während sie sich zusammenrollten und einander hielten, zeigten sie, dass Umarmen genauso wichtig ist wie die geballte Faust und wurden in einer Performance zu einem kollektiven Körper. Anschließend wurden ihre Kleider zerschnitten und wieder zusammengenäht, um ein Wesen zu formen, in dem die Besucher nun verweilen können. Auf der Straße waren die Körper aktiv. Jetzt wollen sie sich hinlegen, entspannen und nachdenken. Die Installation ist ein Raum, um Emotionen nach dem Adrenalinschub zu verarbeiten. Etwas, das wir vielleicht nicht sehen, sondern nur fühlen. Etwas, über das wir vielleicht nicht lesen können, das wir aber teilen können, wenn wir uns treffen. Klingt interessant? Sunny Pfalzer ist österreichische Performance- und bildende Künstler*in, Freediver, Go-Go-Girl und Slug. Egal, ob Sunny auf der Bühne performt, Textilskulpturen näht, die Kamera hält oder für den öffentlichen Raum choreografiert, Sunnys Ansatz ist immer körperlich und gefühlt. Kollaborationen und Freundschaften sind Basis für Sunnys Praxis. Sunnys Arbeiten wurden in zahlreichen Häusern präsentiert, darunter KW Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin, Kunsthalle Wien, Shedhalle Zürich, Les Urbaines Lausanne, Wiener Festwochen, Centro Gulbenkian Lissabon und SAIC Chicago. Sunny ist Gastprofessor*in für bildende Kunst und an der HSLU Luzern.  Marshall Vincent ist ein R&B- und Pop-Sänger, Songwriter und Komponist. Er ist im Programm des Magazins High Snobiety aufgetreten; des TV-Senders Arte; bei CTM, Berlin; u.v.m. „Cripto Sirenas“ is upon view until 26th January 2025. For their newest work cycle 'Cripto Sirenas' Berlin based artist Anna Ehrenstein and Austrian artist Sunny Pfalzer teamed up with the San Salvador based artists Lucy Tomasino and Alexa Evangelista, as well as the web3 researcher Josh Davila. Cripto Sirenas is collaborative sci-fi fable and multi-media worldbuilding venture centered around a collaborative 360° video work and extending through installation, sculptures and mixed- media photographic works. The cycle speculates on tech-solutionism, totalitarian algorithms, and their impact on our bodies through an eco- or hydro-feminist lens, rethinking crypto-colonialist extractivism through the interconnectedness of bodies of water. Developed collaboratively in El Salvador, the video work follows a narrative created in somatic writing sessions between the artists and in conversation with crypto researcher Joshua Davila (author of Blockchain Radicals). 360° footage of the artists performing in public urban spaces and remote natural locations, choreographed by Pfalzer, is juxtaposed with computer-generated imagery, fictioning a future ecology between the digital and physical, artifice and what is conceptualized as “nature” by tech-solutionists. Ecofeminist strategies and drag as a political extension of the self have been parts of Alexa Evangelista and Lucy Tomasino’s artistic methodologies and become central, fluid, and moist dreamscapes within the fable.

OPENING!!! On Friday, November 29 at 7 pm we open our new exhibition: “Cripto Sirenas” is a joint project by Anna Ehrenstein and Sunny Pfalzer. The focus is on a 360° video panorama that the artists produced in El Salvador together with Alexa Evangelista and Lucy Tomasino. In Nordhorn, this panorama is complemented by an installation consisting of textile sculptures, photographic works and collages. Here, the motif of cryptocurrency stands for the complex narrative of a future in which technological and economic concepts determine an authoritarian state. Ehrenstein and Pfalzer contrast this gloomy vision of a conformist society based on individual wealth with a colorful, energetic and multiply interconnected physicality.
