One of the four looks by @lyronejourno exhibited in Room 6 during my evening at Fondation Beyeler.
“The four looks exhibited in this room by young fashion designer Lyrone Journo, standing opposite Nu de dos, reflect the evolution of fashion, often balancing on the fine line between abstract and wearable. Much like in art, the decision of whether these pieces are wearable or not is often made by the observer, rather than the creator. Do these looks fit within our understanding of clothing, or do they push beyond the boundaries of what we consider wearable?”

Pure gratitude for this moment. Showing a curated selection of contemporary designers in dialog with one of the most important names in modern art Henri Matisse. Thank you @fondationbeyeler and @charlotte_sarz for inviting me to host this very special Friday Beyeler. Bringing together my love for art and fashion in such a unique way.
Thank you to all designers who contributed to this evening and continue to push the boundaries of fashion.
With the looks showcased in the nine rooms of the retrospective, both fashion and physicality engage in a conversation about body image. Through abstraction, we challenge the natural form and its reinterpretations. Matisse’s creative journey mirrors the evolution of fashion during his lifetime. Fashion continuously redefines modern perceptions of the body and its social status, employing diverse codes and styles to express its dialogue with the contemporary world and the mindset shaped by each new generation. The innovative designers featured at this Friday Beyeler are leading the way in redefining the meaning of fashion today. They celebrate the body’s versatility through abstraction. Just as Matisse’s artistic process evolved into a freer interpretation of the body, fashion today embarks on a similar journey—endlessly exploring new ideas of what physicality and the body can represent in the modern age.
