Latest work for @volkswagen (commercial vehicles) - „ID.Buzz Cargo - Ewan McGregor Homestory" With all that StarWarsDisneyHollywood Buzz around (no pun intended), this project could’ve been a hell of a ride. But creating something with friends in Berlin while being joined by a more than humble, authentic, of course professional and really funny actor/human being like Ewan McGregor made it go by way too fast. There’s nothing quite like shooting in Italy. Knocking on the doors of amazing people, enjoying their positive attitude, amazing food, gorgeous locations, and, of course, a slightly better weather situation than in Germany... Combine this with working with friends, and it’s surely something I’d do 1-12 times a year.

ALASKA ❤️Exactly 10 years ago, we’ve been to Alaska for the final part of our Red Bull project called SHADES OF WINTER. I’d never directed a full on „Ski-Movie“ before but had the trust of so many incredible people along the way, especially from @sandralahnsteiner who starred and produced a series of the first all-female-ski movies. And of course my fellow colleague and friend @mathiasbergmann who was mentoring me along the way when it came to extreme sports filming. Most sponsors didn’t really put a lot of money on an all-female cast back in 2014 be it the „lack“ of exposure or the „lack“ of action. But we proved that the story and passion of all of them combined was equally important as one individual sticking out from the masses or pure action. Even though we had the most amazing female talents worldwide with us, it was still not easy to convince partners that this will be a milestone for so many projects to come. One of the athletes with us was Matilda Rapaport. The very last shot we filmed in AK was with her on a perfect day with the best conditions possible. That’s when an avalanche dropped right below us with her as a small dot in the middle of it. It didn’t take long until the dust settled and we could spot her waving her hands with a thumbs up, signaling a somehow „all is fine“. After that, we wrapped the AK shoot. Almost exactly around the same time when one of my best friends, Gela Allmann slipped during a photo shoot in Iceland, diving down steep slopes and rocks for 800m in height while breaking almost all of her bones. We’re still best friends but I enjoy her filming with the kids more than I do on the slopes :) It was two years after Shades wrapped, when Matilda died due to an avalanche in South America where she was shooting on a project with a large brand and lots of safety precautions. This made me even more realize how dangerous that sport is. She did what she loved but even today, it gives me shivers to think about that tragic incident. I was fortunate to being part of this whole journey while making lots of friends but I also turned away from extreme sports filming as I knew I didn’t belong there after all #alaska #RedBull #skifilm
