WITHIN | Yesterday, I had the honor of showcasing 10 large-scale prints of my medium format photography at @bathhousestudios for the art show Air, created by @alipimenta and @johnjgordon ⁣ When Aline reached out and shared the themes of the project—recovery, mental health awareness, connection with natural rhythms, and the fluidity of emotional states—I was inspired to be part of it. Through her creative direction, I took an experimental approach to the portraits, shooting on Cinestill 800T 120 film and using red and blue lighting, focused beams, split compositions, and distorted reflections.⁣ ⁣ In just under two weeks, with the help of friends and collaborators, we created 10 portraits that nod to themes of Aline’s show. As someone new to displaying photography, the experience was very challenging, reminding me of my love for the image-making process. All of the details of the displayed images were crafted in-house, handled with care, and made by hand.⁣ ⁣ This project would not have been possible without the amazing individuals who showed their inner side. BILLY PORTER - “Children” Over the years, I’ve watched @theebillyporter redefine acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. It takes such courage and vulnerability to confront the mainstream like Billy has. The younger, closeted, version of myself would never believe that I’d be working with some of the queer monoliths of our time.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ When I found out that @jasecannon and @aliforneycenter were involved in this shoot, the project took on new meaning.
