RUN 2.0 Late to the posting game because I always find it hard to talk about the work that consumes us but I am extremely excited and grateful to have had the pleasure and opportunity to work with @savannahleaf realize 2 short films this past year. The latest one stars #willemdafoe alongside an amazing cast of child and baby actors - who were a true joy to watch on set as they acted and played and, to be honest, kept me going on the 16 hour shoot day. If you’re in or around SF check out the exhibit at #SFMOMA which features both this film and the 1st installment of Savannah’s self-portrait. Got hired to make a commercial for #gant but this directors cut really shows the nonsense we do for the industry- plotless “stories”, a world populated ONLY by the beautiful, “spontaneous scripts”… the list goes on. “Expand Your World with Meta AI” commercial. Had the pleasure of doing some very small but complicated parts of this commercial for my girl and amazing Production Designer @noralux … mainly was tasked with figuring out how to build a crazy ai rendered treehouse in a tree we couldn’t screw into or modify in any way. Long story short spent countless hours on the Meta AI image generator trying get something we could actually build and then had to 3D scan our tree and make sure all the parts fit on our 1 build day. In this industry you can only expect a fraction of your work to make the final edit. Episodes get cut, features don’t get edited or released and in this case a company can go bankrupt… anyhooo I still wanted to share this work since a lot of time and love went into it from my team and I rarely get to work on projects sooo fun! For this shoot I was tasked with building 5 out of this world vacation sets - a cross between fantasy and reality. They are supposed to be fun, whimsical and have a highly crafted Barbarella type vibe. Not only were the sets fun but everyone on set had the best time making this happen! TELFAR x MELISSA jelly bag and slides campaign This project was definitely high on the “oh shit hope this works” factor… From the very 1st meeting with #Babakradboy when they told us they wanted to flood the cyc and use a trapdoor to make a deep/shallow pool at the same time I was unsure if we were going to be able to pull this off without trashing their whole studio. SP5DER Pop-Up Store Super happy how this pop-up for #sp5der @sp5derworldwide Hunter’s collection 🕷️🕸️ turned out - #fromrenderingtoreality If you aren’t in the know #sp5der is a brand inspired by and creative consulted by #youngthug This project really forced me to use all my skills from way back in my #architecture days. I always draft everything myself in #rhino3d But… to create the contoured display tables inspired by #petrifiedwood root structures I learned a little grasshopper and was able to generate random closed curves for the stacked extrusion look. Have to also thank the last couple of years I have spent in #tvproduction for giving me the contact and skills to work with an awesome team of #local52 #riggers and #electrics.
