Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to direct the music video for “I Hate LA” by the talented @igweaka. This project was a true labor of love, coming together both quickly and inspiringly. Aka’s performance and demeanor brought a special quality to the music video that I believe sets it apart. His team was a dream to work with, showing professionalism and amazing collaboration every step of the way. A huge shout-out to @yashbhatt for stepping in as our cinematographer. Last night, we watched our baby girl @cesilycollette make her film debut as young Nessa Rose in the #WickedMovie (@wickedmovie). The way this opportunity found her felt like pure serendipity, and seeing her on screen was truly special. I couldn’t be prouder. The premiere was magical and meaningful. From @arianagrande to @cynthiaerivo and the incredible cast and crew, everyone was so kind, warm, and loving—making her feel truly special on the big night. And having Marissa Bode (@marissa_edob ), who plays the adult Nessa Rose, as a role model has been one of the greatest gifts. She’s a talented, genuine, and sweet person, and our family has been honored to get to know her and her family. A huge thank you to CC's amazing new agent @haleynelly and @evolveartistagency for helping us be part of this unforgettable night. Seeing Cesily spin for the cameras, pose with the stars, and shine in a room filled with so much love is a memory we’ll cherish forever. We were told at 19 weeks that Cesily had #spinabifida and that it was going to be difficult for us raising her. They were WRONG I know the video is long, but it’s impossible to sum it all up. It’s OK to cry—trust me, we did .

When my wife and I found out we were having a baby girl, it felt like a dream come true. But then the doctor told us she’d be born with #SpinaBifida and would never move from the neck down. They even suggested we terminate the pregnancy. That was heartbreaking, but we refused to give up. We promised she would be loved and have a happy life—and Cesily proved them all wrong. From her first movements as a newborn to years of physical therapy, she’s conquered every obstacle with strength, joy, and determination. We found hope through @BorisKodjoe and @NicoleAriParker, whose daughter inspired us during our darkest days. Fast forward to today, Cesily’s photo landed in the hands of a casting director, and against all odds, she was cast as young #Nessarose in Wicked—an authentic wheelchair user at just four years old! On set, we met @marissa_edob , who plays the adult Nessarose. Marissa has become a close family friend and a shining example of talent and grace. Seeing her bring her gifts to the screen inspires us deeply. We also met Chantelle Nassari (@MamaChanos), the disability coordinator, who ensured the set was fully accessible for Cesily and Marissa. Her role was vital, and I believe every production—and event—should have a disability coordinator. Inclusion is not optional; it’s necessary. Representation matters—it saves lives and changes hearts. To every parent of a child with spina bifida: know there is light at the end of the tunnel. And to every filmmaker: let’s show the world the beauty of every life. 🎥💚 Thank you, Wicked. Thank you, Oz. Directed by the 🐐 @davemeyers, this was my first narrative project with Dave, and it was an exciting, nerve-testing, and unforgettable experience. Dr. Dre was a pro—natural and on point, no surprise given his genius as an entrepreneur. Snoop sat on the engine of a REAL car doing donuts in the middle of the street, while another car did donuts right next to him! Six years ago, after a courageous 4½-year battle with sarcoma cancer, my mom, Tonia M. Taylor, passed away on March 24, 2018. Three months later, on June 25, our daughter, Cesily Collette Taylor, was born. That year was full of highs and lows—grief, hope, and so much joy. My mom would have been so proud of Cesily. She would have seen her granddaughter’s bright spirit, her creativity, and her determination, and she would have celebrated every little moment. Even though she isn’t here to see it, I feel her influence in everything we do as parents. I know she’s Cesily’s guardian angel, watching over her and guiding her way. My mom was a beautiful strong black woman and a nurse, and not just any nurse. She was the best. She cared deeply for her patients and worked tirelessly to improve the lives of others. She researched, wrote policies for the VA Medical Center, and never stopped learning. Through her example, she instilled in me the values of dedication, love for community, and the importance of family. Her example shapes how my wife and I raise Cesily. From the moment we saw her, we knew she would have a wonderful life because nothing would stop us from making that happen. Cesily’s joy, creativity, and resilience remind me so much of my mom. Even though they never met, I see my mom in the way Cesily lights up a room, claps and sings like nothing else matters, and faces the world with curiosity and grace. She is so strong—stronger than she even knows, stronger than anyone I know. She faces adversity with a smile and tackles every challenge with determination. One day, Cesily will grow up to be a strong Black woman, just like my mom. That makes me so proud. That makes me so happy. Mom, I miss you every day, but I know you’re smiling down on Cesily. You would be so proud of her. Cesily will know you more and more through the way we love her.

This music adjacent production was Directed by CALMATIC, whose vision was authentic and exactly what this video needed. I’m grateful I could contribute to this project and be part of bringing this vision to life. The 1st time I worked with Sabrina Carpenter was when she was just 15 years old on the music video for “We’ll Be the Stars,” directed by Sarah McColgan. It’s incredible to see how much she’s grown into the powerhouse superstar she is today. I recently had the chance to work with her again on the music video for her new single “Taste,” featuring the talented Jenna Ortega. Had great time working on the music video for “Guess” by Charli XCX feat Billie Eilish! This was one of those projects where everything clicked, and we had a fun time. Billie was a total badass, driving a bulldozer through the set herself—no stunt double needed! Charli killed it with the performance, and I never thought I’d say “panties” so many times in one day! Huge shoutout to our director, Aiden Zamiri, who put together the best animatic I’ve ever seen for a music video. I recently had the pleasure of working on a powerful project in Compton, California, with the talented Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar. The song, “Not Like Us,” is not just a diss track; it brought an unexpected unity to the gangs of Los Angeles. Witnessing this firsthand was truly amazing. We filmed at Tams Burger in Compton, and it was immediately surrounded by hundreds of people showing love. Later, we had a scene at the Compton courthouse with an estimated total of around 2,000 people in attendance. The atmosphere was peaceful, filled with love for Kendrick and the city of Compton. For a music artist to unite an entire city peacefully, given the history of gang violence, was nothing short of monumental and historic. This video is bigger than Drake. It was powerful to see so many people coming together to show love for their city and unite under this song. I’m incredibly proud of the strong crew who helped pull this off. I love this video, and I’m excited to share it with the world.
